Provocative, indeed!

Now here's a provocative quote!
"The power of the Executive to cast a man into prison without formulating any charge known to the law, and particularly to deny him the judgement of his peers, is in the highest degree odious and is the foundation of all totalitarian government whether Nazi or Communist [or Republican]"     :: Winston Churchill, November 21, 1943(Source)
Seriously, Winston Churchill!! Ok, I added the "or Republican" part, but only in the spirit of contemporary application.

Let's put that on a coffee cup and see what conversations come up!

Comments:
Nobody's going to comment on it.

They don't give access to computers to the folks incarcerated at Guantanamo Bay ....

So my prophecy holds true for a month. Why should anybody care about due process for foreign prisoners not even detained on American soil? They must be guilty or they wouldn't have been detained in the first place, right?

(But what does the Lord require of us, Micah?)

Hm, well I don't see how this is such a provocative quote. It seems to me that's it is an edged statement, true, but the underlying truth may be said to hold up for closer inspection.

God bless!

Okay, Jimmy, it's been more than two months now and I am missing your good words. I'm dehydrated for lack of Fluid Faith.

Please.

Quench me.
